If you have hard-to-fit eyes, you know how frustrating it can be to find contact lenses that are comfortable and provide good vision. Scleral Lenses: How It Works

Scleral contact lenses are larger than standard lenses, resting on the white part of the eye (the sclera) rather than the cornea. This innovative design ensures minimal contact with sensitive corneal tissue, making them ideal for those with dry eye, irregular corneas, or high prescriptions. By trapping a layer of fluid between the lens and the eye, scleral lenses provide exceptional comfort and clear vision, even for the most challenging cases.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

These lenses are a good option for people with a variety of eye conditions, including:

  • Keratoconus
  • Irregular corneas
  • Severe dry eye syndrome
  • Post-surgical complications
  • High prescriptions
  • Astigmatism
  • Grafts or scars on the cornea
